Passing H.B. 636 will keep vital State Plumbing Board

Southwest Pipe Trades Association - Government Affairs

House Bill 636 will be heard on March 10 during the committee of Licensing and Administrative Procedures. If approved, the bill will allow the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE) to continue providing the valuable services related to reviewing applications and granting plumbing licenses.

In 2019, Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order extending the existence of TSBPE after legislation aimed at its continuance was left unpassed.

With the passing of H.B. 636, Texans can be assured the agency will continue for at least five more years, regardless of the expiration of Abbott’s executive order.

We all have been working with friends, family, and industry to keep the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners.

We need your help to make this happen. Please take a couple minutes to provide a comment on this form in support of H.B. 636 to keep the TSBPE:  https://comments.house.texas.gov/home?c=c350

As you are filling out the information on the document please remember to select “HB 636 by Thompson, Senfronia.”

Please be respectful as you add your comments and don’t forget to leave your license number as you complete your comments.

The Southwest Pipe Trades Association’s affiliated Locals plumbers have been working tirelessly to repair the damages from Texas’ winter storm, now is the time for plumbers and public alike to voice their opinion on the importance of maintaining a State Board of Plumbing Examiners and a strong Plumbing License Law.
